15. Google March Update Aftermath for Link Building Niche (Survey)
Find out how the last update will effect link building niche
Hey there,
So link building is dead…
again…
I’ll cite latest google blog regarding update:
We’ll now consider very low-value, third-party content produced primarily for ranking purposes and without close oversight of a website owner to be spam.
That’s basically a gentle nudge to all of the SEO’s to stop abusing guest posts on scale.
What does it mean for you?
Here is my 2 cents:
Guest posts/inserts won’t go anywhere, but demand can be lower
Clients in B2B tech, IT, SaaS might put all of the resources into link exchanges
If you’re in link building game aka vendor and not offering link exchanges it’s about time to get started (here is our blog about exchanges).
Should you be worried?
No, all is good, as this update will get only ones who are not following best practices and looking for short cuts.
You’re not one of them, right?
So nothing no worry about.
Just to remind what I mean by best practices:
Sites for link building should have strict editorial policies (no black niches allowed)
No descending traffic trend
User oriented editorial content and user friendly design
In two words - sites that cares about their wellbeing, not selling links like it’s the last day of Pompeii
